Check out a few examples below!
People like working with me. Here’s why.
“They are one of the hardest working, most detail-oriented people I have had the pleasure of working with. They continue to astound with their strong work ethic and quick grip on tricky technical concepts. In my opinion they outperform other project managers given the amount of experience they have. I would hire Salem again in a heartbeat.”
— Dominic Craig, hiring manager
“Salem never skipped a beat when dropped into the hot seat to manage the project. They routinely stayed glued to the needs of the team. They had big shoes to fill but showed their competence, effort, and passion to make the team successful.”
“The project would not have been nearly as organized and efficient without their leadership, dedication, and hard work. Put simply, this major corporate effort would not have succeeded without their tireless contributions to the program.”
“Two questions I ask myself about colleagues: Do I trust this person/am I confident in their abilities? Do I want to work with this person? I’m happy I can easily say ‘yes’ to both about Salem.”
“Every time I work with Salem, I am absolutely impressed with their ability to facilitate dialogue with grace, diplomacy, and inclusion. They conduct meetings with a calm orchestration I have not seen the likes of before.”
“Salem is an amazing part of every team they have ever worked on. Intellectually insightful and incisive while being supportive, organized, and keeping a strong hand on chaotic situations.”
“They take this project management thing very seriously.”
“A natural leader who made the adjustment to project manager with grace. They keep the team motivated and regardless of issues, Salem handles them with poise. They lean in and are dedicated to get the job done.”
“They have great instincts. I am impressed with their initiative to take on new challenges. They made me feel welcomed and are always willing to help. They manage their team each day with confidence and skill.”
“Invaluable to the team. They are fearless when it comes to potentially conflict-laden interactions. Salem is diligent in all their job duties and strives to meet a high bar of excellence.”
What are my personal philosophies?
As a Project Manager/Scrum Master:
You cannot take the people out of project management. Almost every thing I troubleshoot on a project can be addressed by working with people and understanding them.
Empathy is not optional. I strive to display compassion and empathy for anyone I work with, including stakeholders and team members. I cannot be a bridge if I don’t understand both sides.
Transparency is crucial. I will give my team as much context as they want/I can so they understand decisions or why process/metrics are what they are. Never “because I/They said so.”
I’m here to make my team’s lives easier. That can be anything from finding them a better monitor to filling in for Live Ops or QA. It’s not glamorous, but it’s some of the most important work.
I want to learn about my team roles. I can’t help them if I don’t understand their perspectives and the challenges they might face, the terms they use.
As a person:
Kindness is revolutionary. Softness is brave. Compassion is endless. Being nice is cool.
I’m never done growing, I’m never done learning.
I’d rather try and fail than never attempt.
I’d rather people get to know me than like me through a lie.
